The firm was founded by Kenny Arnott in 1999. Arnott Capital is an
alternative investment manager which focuses on absolute returns.

Kenny Arnott

 

Chief Investment Officer

Kenny Arnott has thirty years’ experience in equity and commodity markets. Prior to founding Arnott Capital, Kenny was at Macquarie Bank from 1994-99 in the Commodity and Equities Group as a derivative trader. From 1990-94 he was at Dunavant Enterprises, employed as a commodity trader. Dunavant Enterprise at the time was the largest cotton trading firm globally.

Yianni Gertos

Portfolio Manager

Yianni joined Arnott in 2019 as a Portfolio Manager on the Arnott Opportunities Fund. Prior to Arnott, Yianni was assistant Portfolio Manager at KIS Capital Partners from 2016 and prior to that he spent 4 years at Ernst & Young Australia where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

Steve Clarke

Portfolio Manager

Stephen joined Arnott Capital in 2001. Stephen is currently a Portfolio Manager with Arnott Capital and during his time at Arnott, Stephen has held various roles including being an options market maker, has been on the risk committee and has been a responsible officer for the company. Prior to joining Arnott, Stephen worked in the operations division of Macquarie Bank. He has a Bachelor of Mathematics and a Masters in Applied Finance.

Andrew Koolman

Investment Specialist

Andrew joined Arnott Capital in 2021 and has 16 years’ industry experience. Prior to joining Arnott, Andrew was an Institutional Account Manager at Ellerston Capital with responsibility maintaining Institutional relationships across the firm. In addition to this, Andrew developed and maintained Wholesale Distribution across Broker, Wealth Management and Family Office channels. Prior to Ellerston, Andrew spent 8 years at Morgan Stanley in both Middle office and Equity trading roles, as well as trainee advising positions at Bell Potter and Patersons Securities (now Canaccord Genuity). Andrew holds a Bachelor of Business degree from Charles Sturt University and is ADA 2 Derivatives accredited.

Vanessa Puchert

Chief Operating Officer and Compliance Officer

Vanessa Puchert is a qualified Chartered Accountant who serves as Chief Operating Officer and Compliance Officer at Arnott Capital.  Vanessa is responsible for all operational and financial functions including accounting and audit. As compliance officer, Vanessa manages all internal compliance of the company and Funds and works closely with the Directors on all regulatory compliance matters.  Prior to joining Arnott Capital in 2017, Vanessa spent 18 years in the accounting profession in Cape Town, London and Melbourne. This included areas of auditing, accounting, financial statement software development, and corporate finance.
